Helmet, Hair, etc...

Rachel had a good night. She is asking for her contacts and beauty products. She is being fit for a helmet today. The left side of her skull is "on ice" and she will be without it for 3-4 months (this is so the swelling can go down/she will have it surgically replaced). We will come home with a helmet and portable I.V. (she will be on antibiotics through the I.V. for 3-4 months). Half of her head was shaved (I don't know if she realizes this yet). All that being said, she is doing well. There is a chance that she will be moved out of Intensive Care today and maybe be released on Monday. They checked her heart yesterday and there is no infection there, we are hoping to know where the infection came from by this afternoon. When I showed her the pictures of Abbey yesterday she broke down and cried. I will do my best to keep you posted. Again, thanks so much for your prayers!!!!!

Dear Rachel and Klint,
When we learned about Rachel's illness from Grandma Mama Lou, we have been in constant prayer for her and all your family. I asked permission to post all the messages Lou was getting from the family to our Thompson family website so everyone in the big Thompson family knows what is happening and is praying. And we know that our prayers are heard.

I'm so glad to read about her too from your blog. Even though we have never met, I feel a close family bond with Rachel and all of you.

God Bless. Our prayers are still being said and still being heard.

I am so grateful that there is no cancer. What an ugly word. You are in our prayers. Satan wants nothing more then to rob your joy. Refuse to let him. Have a great day. Peggy Hope, St. Louis

Klint and Rachel,

You don't know me, but I attend McKnight Road with Brad and Sue. I am so happy to hear Rachel is doing better. I prayed to God that he would heal her. Please know that I will continue to pray for you and your family and that she has a speedy recovery. Praise God!

Dear Klint, Rachel and Abbey;
I'm Brad's first cousin, Linda Morsher. My mother is Mae Klein. I've been in prayer since I first heard of your crisis. I know that God answers prayers. It was just a little over eight months ago when the Good Lord answered our prayer for Hannah's recovery and the arrival of little Abbey. Family means so much.....Keep the faith!!!! We will continue to offer your family up in prayer.....To God be the glory.....
In Christ,
Linda Morsher

Klint and Rachel - I feel honored to have been a witness from afar to an all out miracle. God is so much bigger than we give Him credit for. I know this experience has changed your lives drastically and we will continue to pray for healing along with great doses of joy and peace. Hug each other for us and know you are greatly loved.

Dear Rachel and Klint, Thank you for the great compassion your blogs are showing for your family, Klint. Your sensitivity and tenderness tell us that you will be Rachel's (and Abby Rae's) best caregiver throughout these times.
I just read Mike Cope's blog where he encouraged the Highland church to raise up their voices and hearts in prayer to our Father for Rachel.
Emily, my 8-year-old granddaughter, loved going to the basketball games because she could sit with Rachel; she said Rachel always had a smile for her. She was so sad when she heard; we encouraged her to be a prayer warrior for Rachel. She tells me that God answers prayers and she plans to pray for Rachel. She has a picture of Abby on her wall, too.
Your distress, how you handle it, your love will continue to make a great ripple for good in the hearts of many.
Blessings and prayers,

Dear Klint and Rachel,
Ida called us when Rachel was first
diagnosed with a tumor and we have been praying day and night since then. We have called Ida and Roberta daily for an update and are so very grateful that it was not a tumor and that the surgery went well. I just found out about your blog. We sent a card to your Mom's address. Our prayers continue. God bless you all.
Love,
Doris and Bob in Abilene

Dear Klint and Rachel,
You are on our hearts and minds constantly. We continue to pray for strength for you and Rachel's recovery to be complete and whole.
Your words of faith through this trial have been a great witness to how God cares for us and weeps with us. We love you both and never stop praying.
