My wife is sick

The past 24 hours have been the most difficult hours so far in my short 30 years. My wife went in for an MRI and a "tumor" was spotted in her brain. We were told to go right to the hospital. After sitting in an emergency room bed for several hours a neuro-surgeon showed up and explained the details of the tumor and suggested it come out quick. We were allowed to go home and the next morning we "got busy." My in-laws happened to be in town visiting and Brad (my father-in-law), myself and the rest of the family started "beating the bushes" to get Rachel into the best doctors and best hospitals. We succeeded! We had a 2:30 appointment with the top neuro-surgeon at Henry Ford Medical Center. We met with the neuro-surgeon and an Oncologist.
Here is what we know:
-Tumor is in posterior section of her brain
-The tumor has effected her vision (we don't know if she will get this back)
-The size is somewhere between a ping-pong ball and golf ball
-The tumor is in a place that is operable
-There is some swelling in her brain
-The Doctors feel that it is only in her brain
-The Doctors feel that it has a good chance of being malignant
-We will have surgery to remove the tumor within 7-10 days

We believe that outside of God she is in the best care possible. I invoke your prayers and ask you would pray for 3 things.
1)I want my wife to know and FEEL how much she is loved by me
2)I want my wife to be filled with the peace of God and not fear
3)I want to be fully present with my wife every moment of every day

Obviously, there is nothing more I want than her to be restored to full health. God knows this. These are my prayers.

My wife and I are preparing to get on the path and walk the walk so many of people have walked. As my wife and I held each other and cried last night in bed we prayed that we would find the blessing together in this upcoming journey.

Klint and Rachel,

Please know that I will be on my knees for you as you take God's hand during this time. Rachel, I pray that the peace of Christ and the presence of the Holy Spirit would fill your precious heart at this very moment. You are dearly loved by the Cunninghams. I praise God for the love that you so passionately show to one another and to the world. Be blessed now and always.

Klint and Rachel, Geoff and I have both been overwhelmed with this news. We are praying for each item on your list, Klint, and especially for God's healing presence with each of you every step of the way. We miss you all so very much. I still drive by your old house and feel the longing to see you. Hug each other for us and hug that sweet and precious Abbey. And Thank you God that Rachel is getting such good care. Guide and direct the paths of the doctors as they treat her. Give them wisdom. May their hands be Your hands.

Rachel,
A note to say you will be lifted up in prayer by so many in the days and weeks to come. Until we are faced with such fears, we really don't know how we would respond to such situations. However, it is faith like yours and like Klint's and like that of your parents that will be a blessing to many around you as you begin a new and different journey. We will pray that this journey will be smooth for you and that healing will occur quickly. God will be teaching us all through each of you.

I will be found by you," declares the Lord, "and I will bring you back from captivity."

Klint And Rachel,
Alyson and I will be covering you in prayer and scripture. I know that even though we may be way down here in Texas, the power of God will cover you with peace. We both love you very much and wish that we could be there to offer physical support, but know that you have our spiritual support.

Rachel and Clint,

Travis and I are holding you up in our prayers. We love you dearly and pray the best for you two, Abbey, and the rest of the family.

God, please surround this beautiful family with your love, comfort, and healing. Carry them through the life shaping obstacles that lay before them. Protect and nurture their physical bodies as well as their spiritual minds. Be with Abbey as she makes the transition to formula. Be with them them Lord and give them what you alone know they are in need of. Give to them Lord everything they are in need of. They are such wonderful servants of yours. Bless them Lord and allow them to be a blessing to others. Love them.

Klint, Lauren Kelly contacted me and asked if our church would pray for your wife. I am the secretary at First Baptist Church in Rockland, MA, and our church believes in the power of prayer. God is holding Rachel in the palm of His hand. We are praying for a miracle, and thank God already that it was not malignancy. Juanita Bardon

Klint and Rachel: We are estatic to learn from Hannah today that Rachel was released from the hospital LAST NIGHT! Prayers have been answered! Wish we could be there to "see for ourselves" just how wonderful Rachel is doing, but Texas is a LONG way from Michigan! We'll just have to rely on e-mail's and phone calls for updates. Know that your family is LOVED by us! Mama Lou & Daddy Laddie

Klint,

I wanted to just raise praises to the heavens for the wonderful news that Rachel is now home.

My wife and I worked with you during your time at ACU and were fortunate to get the chance to meet you and your wonderful family. We are so glad to see God has taken care of you and your family in a time of need.

Courtney and I have since left Abilene for jobs in West Tennessee (Jackson, south of UT Martin), so I have a new cell phone number, but you can reach me at parrott_joshua@yahoo.com.

Our prayers continue to be with you and your family.

Sincerely,

Josh and Courtney Parrott
