Not A Tumor

I have neither the time nor the strength to explain to you what my wife and I went through last night. We almost lost her 3 times (one of those times she was in my arm). I will do my best to tell the story later. However, Rachel had emergency surgery this morning at 5:00, she was having seizures and had an incredible amount of swelling in her brain. The surgeon came out 2 1/2 hours later and told us it was not a tumor (originally he though it was a malignant tumor). It was a bad infection that grew into a mass in the posterior section of her brain. The Dr.'s are searching for clues on where it might have originated. Moreover, due to the swelling we are hoping there was not too much brain damage. I was able to see Rachel after surgery, she was awake and alert. PRAISE THE LORD! You will NEVER now how much it means to me that you took the time to care and pray. I never felt alone for one second throughout this journey. More later.

Klint,
I heard about Rachel's health struggles via email from a group of girls at Lipscomb who are dear friend's of Rachel's sister Hannah. I wanted you to know that the Centerville Church of Christ in Tennessee is praying earnestly for your wife's full recovery. While I have only met her once, at your grandfather's funeral, I was struck by her sweet spirit and your deep love for each other. The Pi Dela girls from Lipscomb sing a song based from the book of John which says "peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid, for peace, my peace I give to you." May God grant you the peace and stregth to overcome these trials. In Christian Love, Sandy Qualls (formally Sandy Scott: Your sister Kim's childhood friend)

Klint,
Jill and I were so glad to hear that Rachel is on the road to recovery. You, Rachel and Abby have been in our thoughts and prayers for the last 24 hours. I know that the prayers of all of your family and friends in Michigan and Texas (and elsewhere) were holding you up during those times when it might have seemed as if Rachel were slipping away. But we serve an awesome God, and He was right there with you during the last few days. In these times we live in, it's easy for all of us to believe that miracles don't occur anymore. But your wife will be a walking, talking witness to the contrary for the rest of her life. Praise God!

Klint, What a relief to get the news around noon today that Rachel was sitting up and talking! What a miracle!! Many, many in Abilene have been holding you guys up in prayer, and God has answered the prayers for a MIRACLE! You are an inspiration in your dedication to Rachel and your family, and foremost to God. We love you so much. Please hug Rachel for me! (Hope you can get a little rest now.)
Love, Roberta

We don't know each other, but my mom and dad, Peggy and Lonnine Milstead (at Highland)asked that my husband and I pray for Rachel, you, and little Abby. That they love you so much speaks to the beautiful ways your lives have touched their's. Our prayers are now of praise and thanks, but still a covenant for our Lord to watch over and continue to shield Rachel from any further medical harm. Also, for you to ride on the extra strength He might supply to you, and allow you some peace and rest. It seems, from the many comments, that He has blessed you with an awesome family and a tremendous support system. And judging by the many who have been praying and continue to do so, the blanket of prayer you are receiving has been a large part of His healing chain for Rachel.

Blessings in Him!

Klint and all the family:

Everything we did today, you were in our thoughts and as we went about normal routine, I silently prayed for all of you. You have shown great strength and you love and devotion will along with God help Rachel recover. Praise God for being such a healer. We continue to pray for the future of your family and Rachel's health. Love to all. Mr. Dean and Ms. Jan

several years ago, my sister-in-law's father tripped on a piece of cracked sidewalk, fell and broke his neck. They were told he would never walk again. he spent several months in the hospital flat on his back but still singing and praising the Lord. eventually he got up and walked out of the place, not totally healed, but totally amazing all the medical personnel who had attended to him.

There is no end to miracles.

Jane, John, jr., Margie and I prayed together over breakfast this morning. We asked the Lord to be with Rachel, the Doctors and your entire family. It may have been the most quiet and reflective time we have had as a family in our home. We knew things would turn out well within God's plan.
Rachel's family has always been an inspiration to ours in terms of faith and strength. Clearly the inspiration continues. Powerful is the faith of the thousands of family and friends who are praying for Rachel.
Please keep sending the updates.

Dear Klint, As so many others have said, you have been in our hearts all day. We will continue to pray for strength for you and Rachel and for the doctors to be able to find the source of the infection. We dearly love Rachel's family and have watched Rachel grow into the precious wife you now hold in your heart. Please give our love to sweet Sue and Brad, Hannah and Adam! With love and thanksgiving, Deanie and Mike

Klint,
We've only met a time or two but I know some of what you have just gone through. Terry and I are praying for a full recovery for Rachel and the the essence of G~d's presence surround you and your family to the very end of this journey. Baruch Abba Adonai!! PS Try a little honey or molasses in Abbey's formula, she may be missing the sweetness.

Dear Klint: Hannah just sent me your blogger site and was happy to read your thoughts and prayers over the past few days. It's been rough, but with the thousands praying for Rachel, we feel that God has answered prayers! We are elated that the so called "tumor" was not cancerous and only appeared that way before surgery. I'm glad that Brad and Sue are there with you and Rachel to lend a hand in caring for that precious lil' girl, Abbey (our First ...and only GreatGrandbaby)! Daddy Laddie and I are with y'all in Spirit so please give Rachel a gentle hug from Houston, TX. We love you! Mama Lou & Daddy Laddie

Please know we are praying for you at the Mid County Church in St. Louis, Missouri.

I am friends with Brad and Sue and have watched their children grow up in to incredible adults. I am so thankful this site exists as I don't have to call CFS to get my updates.

I am keeping all of you in my prayers and look forward to hearing about her journey to health!

I don't know you all but my husband and I are about the same age as you guys, and we have a 1-year-old, and we are believers, so I feel a connection to you. I am so sorry you all are walking through this valley right now, but I just broke down and cried (and I even clapped my hands!) when I read that Rachel is tumor-free. THANK YOU LORD!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
