Blessings

If you are looking you can find blessings in the midst of hardship. This has been the toughest 48 hours of my life. However, I have received some amazing blessings that otherwise I don't think I would have received. Here they are:

-My father-in-law and I spent some amazing time in prayer, I feel especially close to him right now.
-All of a sudden I have a clear picture of whats important.
-I had the opportunity (at 30 years of age) to weep as my own parents bookended me (I felt amazing blessing in this).
-The overwhelming amount of people who have called and e-mailed saying we our in their thoughts and prayers.
-Friends who have traveled (some a great distance) just to hug us and encourage us.
-The amazing energy my mother-in-law has as she helps with Abbey.
-The strength and support of my entire family.
-The experience we had this morning as the Lake Orion church "lifted the roof" in prayer (thanks for the great lesson Dad!).

There are blessings all around and it's amazing how bright they shine when in the middle of darkness.

Thanks you so much for your prayers!

Oh! My wife wants prayers as we are STRUGGLING to get Abbey to take formula. Rachel had to instantly stop breast feeding and it has been very difficult.

Thank You!

You don't know me, but I'm praying for you anyway. I don't know the whole situation you are going through, regardless, I know and understand that sometimes you just need people to be prostrate before the Father on your behalf. I wish you peace in this valley!

Klint,

You don't know me either, but I went to your blog from Mike Cope's. We will be praying for you, your wife, and your daughter. Bless her heart, it must be confusing and thus heartbreaking for your wife to have to stop nursing without warning. I am so sorry.

Have you tried Abby on a sippy cup (assuming you are using a bottle?)? She might be old enough to make the leap and it might be different enough (no real sucking motion) as to not be so confusing. The pre-prepared liquid formula is expensive, but might also be worth a try...

May God bless you with healing, stamina and strength...may He grant creativity and wisdom to you and those trying to help you with Abby, and may He whisper His love and comfort in her ear. (Our hospital's nursery is available 24/7 for calls...maybe yours is too, and hopefully they would have some suggestions?)

God hold you close,

Father,

We ask that You will exhaust every resource in heaven on behalf of Rachel & Klint. We pray for your peace, especially during the night, to fall on the Pleasant house and to give them rest. We pray against any fear or anxiety that may come against this family. Strengthen them with Your Spirit to walk this path at this season in their life. May they be fully present with You and each other. In Christ's name,
Amen

We love you guys! Andy, Stacy, & Drew

God-

It's Rachel. Please give little Abbey some rest this evening. It's 1:33 AM and we are having a rough night. May Abbey feel your spirit of peace as her Dad rocks her to sleep. May those little eyes close and dream of your love this evening.

Thank you for the strength you give Klint. Please encourage him to continue leading our family. He's doing a great job AND I have an incredible husband!

Thank you for the prayers.

Lord, I plead with You to wash Rachel's body in healing.

Check out www.jennyrunkel.com. Jenny is another believing mama who is struggling through the valley of sickness right now. Blessings on your family during this trying time.

Klint and Rachel -- David, Cheryl, Michael and Kate will pray for you all. Klint, you were so kind to Michael and so faithful to ask how he was doing during our struggles with his health issues the past two years (he's now doing great by the way). We owe you many prayers and loving thoughts in return and I promise you will have them.
Abby will adjust. That's no doubt hard to believe at the moment, God gave babies a remarkable ability to move on to their next great adventure. I had to suddenly stop nursing Kate when she was less than a month old for far less serious health reasons and 13 years later I assure you she is no worse off for it. Lots of love, which I know Abby is getting, and lots of distractions and other means of getting nutrition will appeal to her soon. Really. The much loved Jewish pediatrician who took care of Michael when he was tiny always reminded me that you have to look at what kids and babies consume over the course of a week and not sweat it hour to hour or day by day.
May the Lord continue to bring you rest and wisdom and peace and healing and a weaned, contented baby.

Klint and Rachel,
We are still "tearing through the roof" for you. Let us know how we can help.
May the grace and healing of God be with the three of you.

I went to school with Hannah and Rachel at Lipscomb. You were both awesome examples to me then and now. You have both been through a lot this year physically.

Klint, Rachel, and Abbey I will be praying over you constantly and I will solicit prayers from all of my family and friends as well. God is the Great Physician and Healer. He knows your concerns even when you are too exhausted to voice them.

Also, I had a baby last Sept. I also struggled with switching between nursing and bottle. I used Nestle Good Start Formula and Playtex Premium Nursers. Sydney had no problems on this type of bottle. God is with you and will see you through.

Klint:

I learned about the situation with Rachel today. The Griffith's had a serious scare this summer with my wife. I have learned to trust in God more and I have learned what a great group of Christians friends my family has. I believe you are seeing the same things. You, Rachel, and Abbey will be in my daily prayers.

Rachel and Klint, God is being bombarded with prayers for you all; only He was answering before we asked. What an awesome God we serve. We will continue to pray for a healthy recovery.
