Abbey's Picture With Santa

This is Abbey's picture with Santa at 2 yrs of age.

She talks about Santa, she admits over and over that he's "nice" and she even likes looking at him. But sitting on his lap is a whole different story!!! When we were in St. Louis over Thanksgiving Abbey saw Santa twice, once at the mall and again at Grants Farm. Both times she looked at him from a distance and acted interested. So last night we took her to see him again and this time we decided to take a picture with him. We waited in line, talked about how much fun it would be and watched all the other boys and girls sit on Santa's lap. But when we got to the front of the line...Abbey changed her mind!!! She put a death grip on my neck and pleaded with me to hold her! She even refused to sit on Santa's lap with her older cousin Palmer. After holding up the line for a few minutes I tried to "reason" with Abbey and I even offered to sit on Santa's lap with her. The answer was no! Of course 5 minutes after we left she was talking about how nice Santa was and what she wanted for Christmas (which by the way is, a stuffed dog, 5 baby dolls, the wiggles figures and the wiggles big red car).

So my Dad got off cheap. He insisted that he pay for the grandkids to get their picture with Santa and since Abbey refused...he only spent one dollar instead of twenty. He found a photo both in the mall, put Abbey and Palmer in it, inserted one dollar and out came the picture.

Actually it will probably end up being a special memory. When Abbey gets older and is looking at pictures we can explain to her that on her second Christmas she sat on her cousins lap and not Santa's.
