Perspective

My father buried a 25 year old girl today that lost a long battle to cancer. She was a beautiful young lady and was a very close friend of the family. I must admit it was difficult to coach my team tonight. I'm constantly reminded of the brevity of life. I pray that I will have the discipline to keep my life in perspective and to put my energies into the arenas of my life that are eternal. I cannot allow the things of this world that are rather insignificant to index the happiness or lack of happiness in my life. My mantra must be..."Seek ye first the Kingdom of God."

Sleeping Beauties

After finishing my first ever "blog" entry, I shut down the computer and headed off to bed. However, on the way to my bedroom I noticed my wife and baby girl (3 weeks old) sound asleep together on the couch. My world has been turned "upside down." There are now two women in my life. It is both awesome and humbling at the same time. Everything I care about in this world is resting peacefully on the living room couch.

Father, I pray that you make me into the husband and father that I so desire to be. I pray for wisdom, patience and love...even when it is not deserved.

Just the beginning

I have decided to create my own "blog" site. I have been reading my friend Mike Cope's "blog" recently and feel compeled to start my own. I don't know exactly how I will use this. However, I pray that God will bless me as I begin to journal thoughts (hopefully on a daily basis). More thoughts later. Klint
