Off To Tulsa

I'm headed to Tulsa tonight with the Rochester College men's basketball team. They are playing in the National Tournament and seeded #1. It wont all be pleasure...I'll be working as well. My hope is to make a presentation to a charity in Tulsa that has been a donor of RC in the past as well as "wine and dine" some RC donors, alum and friends that I have invited to the tournament. Also, a few of my colleagues just gave me some additional names to look up while there as well.

I hope I'm blogging in a few days about an RC men's basketball championship and a few successful donor visits!!!

Kent State Basketball

Kent State mens basketball has won 20 games or more for 10 straight years. I have not done the research but there are very few (maybe none) other mid major Div. I teams that can say that. They are coached by one of my closest friends, Jim Christian. Jim and I were assistants together at Kent State in 2001-2002. We won 30 games that year and went on to the NCAA Elite Eight and eventually lost to Univ. of Indiana to go to the Final Four. I learned a lot from Jim that year and continue to as well. His strengths are; keeping things simple, motivating players to play hard, game management and adjustments and relating well to players during the recruiting process...to name just a few. I look forward to watching them the rest of the way and hopefully sitting behind their bench in the first round of the NCAA tournament!

Sunday Night Church

I went to the U2 concert tonight in 3D at the Henry Ford IMAX theater. It was incredible! I highly suggest it; doesn't matter if you are a fan or not, old or young...just go! I would argue that Bono is one of the top theologians in the world today...
