The Road

I read "The Road" a few years ago by Cormac McCarthy. It was an incredible book and maybe one of the most emotionally moving novels I have ever read. It gives the most compelling description of how much a father loves his child. In fact, I hope one day to pass the book on to Abbey and say, "This might help you understand just how much I love you." The book was recently made into a movie. It was a low budget film and is only showing in smaller theaters. I usually prefer not to see movies made from books I have enjoyed (because the movie never satisfies what one has depicted in his/her mind while reading the book), but I decided to see this one. I saw it today at a small "knock off" theatre in Royal Oak. It was a moving experience as I fought off emotion and tears throughout the 2 hour show. I love my children so much, it hurts. It truly is an indescribable love. I would do anything for my two girls. Read this book, and watch this film.
